flat rate is the minimum repair price
that is set for a unit as long as there
are no major component failures. Major
components include picture tubes, high
voltage transformers, yokes, tuners and
microprocessors. If any of these need to
be replaced, it could very easily force
the estimate past the flat rate.
Fortunately, most television repairs do
not have any major component failures and
can be repaired within the flat rates set
for each unit. There are times when
extremely minor problems are found with
the unit, such as blown fuses and loose
wiring. In these cases, you will not be
charged the flat rate. Instead you will
be charged the minimum bench fee
for televisions which currently is
